Hello! Let me start by saying thank you to the couple of you who attempted to Jillian me into working out. It didn't work today because I got busy cleaning then cooking then I got my hair cut and then I started dinner and then Sam came home and we ate dinner and, well, now I'm full of dinner, so... let's talk about what I
am good at: the cleanse!
Breakfast!
I had an apple with peanut butter (all natural, just peanuts and salt) because the last thing I wanted after taking the dogs out to do their business in the arctic air was a cold smoothie.
Lunch!
I didn't eat lunch. I had another apple around 1 pm before going to get my hair cut, but that's it. And speaking of my hair cut...
The bangs have returned! Technically I've had bangs for the past year but they're usually grown out and swept to the side. But then Michelle Obama and
Gretchen both got bangs around the same time (they must have discussed it) and I've been sick of my hair lately but I still want to grow it out and...why am I telling you this? I have verbal diarrhea today. Sorry. I got bangs. That's the point.
Dinner!
 |
| Oooh, what's in the pot? |
 |
| The beginnings of a beautiful veggie stock, that's what! And what did I use it for? |
 |
| Red lentil and sweet potato stew, that's who! Also, I really love cilantro. In case you can't tell. |
Red lentil and sweet potato stew is delicious! This is the first recipe from the cleanse that I've
really enjoyed. The mix of cumin, garlic, ginger, and curry (I used red) made it really flavorful and the lentils and potatoes made it really filling. I ate one bowl and was stuffed AND I have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Score one for the home team.
And that's that. Right now I'm torturing myself by watching Cupcake Wars then I'm going to maybe read a book or perhaps coerce Sam into playing Rummy. And then I'm going to go to bed so I can get up and EXERCISE! I swear to it. I'll even take pictures as proof.
See you tomorrow then, yes?
Was it my lack of rock hard abs that made me fail as a Jillian? I have them. You just can't see them under all the pudge. But they're there. Oh, they're definitely there. Somewhere.
ReplyDeleteSoup looks good! Now get off ur butt Maria and exercise. K love you bye!
ReplyDeleteThe dinner looks DELICIOUS!!! And so do your bangs. I definitely a noticing a trend with those lately. I would love to have 'em but I have a cowlick. And I look ridiculous with bangs. The only way I was ever able to have them was when it was fashionable to curl and tease 'em up and spray, spray, spray with Aquanet...
